Sweet Filipino Spaghetti Dish (Printable Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 6 ounces dry spaghetti

02 - ½ pound lean ground pork
03 - 2 pieces red hot dogs, diagonally sliced

04 - 1 cup sweet-style spaghetti sauce
05 - ⅓ cup banana ketchup
06 - ¼ cup pasta water

→ Aromatics

07 - 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
08 - 2 cloves garlic, minced

→ Seasonings

09 - Salt to taste
10 - ½ teaspoon coarse black pepper

11 - 1 to 2 tablespoons cooking oil
12 - ½ cup freshly grated cheese

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Boil spaghetti in salted water until al dente. Drain and reserve some pasta water.
02 - In a large skillet, brown ground pork. Drain excess fat and set aside.
03 - In the same skillet, sauté onions until translucent. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
04 - Add browned ground pork. Lightly season with salt and black pepper. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes while regularly stirring.
05 - Add sliced hot dogs. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
06 - Pour the sweet-style spaghetti sauce, banana ketchup, and pasta water. Mix well and bring to a gentle simmer for 10 to 15 minutes. Stir occasionally.
07 - Season to taste then transfer half of the sauce to a bowl.
08 - Add al dente spaghetti into the skillet and fully coat with the sweet-style sauce.
09 - Top with the reserved sweet-style spaghetti sauce and freshly grated cheese.
