Bacon Green Beans (Printable Version)

Crispy bacon and tender green beans create a savory, smoky side dish that pairs perfectly with any meal in just 30 minutes.

# Ingredients:

01 - 6 slices bacon, chopped
02 - 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
03 - 2 garlic cloves, minced
04 - 340g fresh green beans, trimmed and cut in half
05 - ⅛ teaspoon salt
06 - 1/16 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Cook the bacon in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until the fat renders and the meat becomes crisp and brown, about 8-10 minutes.
02 - Stir in the onion and garlic; cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
03 - Add the cut green beans and 120ml of water. Cook until the water evaporates and the green beans are tender, about 8-10 minutes. Add more water if needed if it evaporates before the beans are tender.
04 - Season with salt and pepper, then serve immediately.

# Additional Notes:

01 - This dish is best served fresh, but can be refrigerated for up to 4 days.
02 - While fresh green beans are recommended, frozen green beans will also work well.
03 - Add red pepper flakes for a pleasant spicy heat.
