Buttery Garlic Shrimp Scampi (Printable Version)

Juicy shrimp in a buttery garlic sauce with lemon and white wine. This elegant dish comes together in just 15 minutes.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 pound large shrimp, shelled and cleaned
02 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
03 - 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
04 - ¼ cup unsalted butter
05 - ¼ cup dry white wine
06 - 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
07 - ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
08 - Sea salt and black pepper, to taste
09 - ¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
10 - 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Cook the shrimp until pink, about 2 minutes per side. Remove from the pan and set aside.
02 - Melt butter in the same pan. Add garlic and cook until golden, about 1 minute.
03 - Pour in the wine and lemon juice, then add the pepper flakes. Allow the sauce to simmer and thicken for about 3 minutes.
04 - Return the shrimp to the pan and coat them with the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
05 - Top with Parmesan and parsley, and serve hot.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Use large shrimp for best results as they stay juicy and don't overcook too quickly. Devein them for optimal texture.
02 - Fresh garlic provides significantly better flavor than pre-minced versions.
03 - Remove shrimp from heat as soon as they turn pink to maintain tenderness.
04 - A dry white wine like pinot grigio or sauvignon blanc works best; chicken broth makes a suitable non-alcoholic alternative.
05 - Adding fresh lemon zest at the end enhances the flavor profile.
06 - For additional heat, increase the quantity of red pepper flakes.
07 - Best served immediately, but can be stored in an airtight container for up to two days.
08 - When reheating, use low heat on stovetop with a splash of chicken broth to maintain sauce consistency.
