07 - 4 large apples, peeled and thinly sliced (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith recommended)
08 - 150 g sugar
09 - 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
10 - Juice of 1 lemon

→ Streusel

11 - 120 g chopped nuts or matzo meal
12 - 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
13 - 100 g sugar
14 - 2-4 tablespoons butter (for richer flavor)

→ Caramel Sauce

15 - 100 g brown sugar
16 - 56 g butter (half stick)
17 - 2 tablespoons milk
18 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

# Step-by-Step Guide:

01 - Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Lightly grease a 30 cm (12-inch) springform pan and wrap the outside with foil to prevent leakage.
02 - Combine sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice in a bowl. Allow to macerate while preparing other components.
03 - Mix eggs, oil, potato flour, sugar, matzo meal, and salt until well combined.
04 - Spread half of the cake batter evenly across the bottom of the prepared springform pan.
05 - Arrange the apple slices with their juices over the batter layer.
06 - Carefully spread the remaining cake batter over the apple layer.
07 - Combine chopped nuts or matzo meal, cinnamon, sugar, and butter. Mix with fingertips to create clumps of streusel.
08 - Sprinkle the streusel topping evenly over the cake surface.
09 - Bake for approximately 75 minutes until golden brown and a tester inserted in the center comes out clean.
10 - Allow cake to cool completely before removing the springform ring.
11 - In a small saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar, and milk. Bring to a boil while stirring constantly. Once boiling, continue to cook for 2½ minutes.
12 - Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Allow to cool to room temperature. For a thicker consistency, add a few tablespoons of powdered sugar.
13 - Pour caramel sauce over the cake just before serving. Note that the sauce will remain soft for approximately 4 hours before hardening.

# Additional Info:

01 - The caramel sauce will harden if left on the cake overnight but will still taste delicious.
02 - Wrapping the springform pan with foil helps prevent leakage, especially if your apples are particularly juicy.
