Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies (Printable Version)

Chewy, plant-based chocolate chip cookies with crisp edges and a gooey center.

# Ingredients:

→ Dry ingredients

01 - 1 cup white, oat, or spelt flour
02 - 1/2 tsp baking soda
03 - 1/4 tsp salt
04 - 1/4 cup sugar, unrefined if desired
05 - 1/4 cup brown sugar or coconut sugar
06 - 1/3 cup chocolate chips

→ Wet ingredients

07 - 2 tbsp milk of choice, plus more if needed
08 - 2 tbsp oil or melted vegan butter
09 - 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract

# Steps to Follow:

01 - In a large bowl, mix all dry ingredients, then stir in the wet ingredients until the mixture forms a dough. Keep stirring until the texture is consistent. If necessary, add 1-2 additional tablespoons of milk of choice.
02 - Shape the dough into one large ball. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or freeze until firm.
03 - Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
04 - Divide the dough into individual balls. Place them on a greased baking tray, leaving space between each ball to allow for spreading.
05 - Bake the cookies on the center rack for 11 minutes. They may appear undercooked when removed.
06 - Let the cookies cool on the baking tray for 10 minutes. During this time, they will firm up. If cookies do not spread adequately, gently press them with a spoon after baking.
07 - Extra dough balls can be frozen for baking at a later date.
