Candied Almonds Air Fryer (Printable Version)

Crunchy almonds coated in a sweet cinnamon-sugar glaze, quickly prepared in your air fryer or conventional oven.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup whole almonds
02 - 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
03 - 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
04 - 1 egg white
05 - ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
06 - ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
07 - ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
08 - Pinch of kosher salt

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Pre-heat Air Fryer to 350°F (177°C) or oven to 375°F (190°C). Set air fryer cook time to 6 minutes or oven timer to 8 minutes.
02 - In a small container, combine light brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix thoroughly.
03 - In a large shallow bowl, beat egg white until frothy. Add vanilla extract and continue beating until well-combined.
04 - Add whole almonds to the egg white mixture. Mix until almonds are completely coated.
05 - Add the brown sugar mixture to the coated almonds. Toss gently until almonds are evenly coated with the spiced sugar mixture.
06 - Transfer coated almonds onto the Air Fryer tray in a single layer, or onto a greased baking sheet for oven cooking.
07 - Gently toss almonds halfway through cooking time. Watch closely during the final minutes to prevent burning.
08 - Remove from heat and allow the candied almonds to cool completely before serving.

# Additional Notes:

01 - This recipe was tested with an Instant Vortex Plus Air Fryer Oven. Different air fryer models may require time adjustments.
02 - Once cooled, separate the almonds with a spoon to prevent clumping.
03 - The almonds will become crunchier after cooling completely.
04 - Store in an airtight container for extended freshness.
05 - Steam-pasteurized whole almonds were used, but raw almonds can be substituted.
06 - When removing the air fryer tray to toss almonds, close the door to maintain temperature.
