Ambrosia Salad (Printable Version)

A classic creamy dessert combining canned fruit, coconut and marshmallows folded into whipped topping and sour cream.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 can (20 ounce) crushed pineapple, drained
02 - 1 can (15 ounce) mandarin oranges, drained
03 - 10 ounces maraschino cherries, destemmed, pitted, and quartered

→ Creamy Base

04 - 1 container (8 ounce) frozen whipped topping, thawed
05 - 2/3 cup sour cream

→ Additional Components

06 - 3 cups mini marshmallows
07 - 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut

# Steps to Follow:

01 - In a large bowl, stir together the crushed pineapple, mandarin oranges, and maraschino cherries.
02 - Add the whipped topping, marshmallows, and sour cream to the fruit mixture.
03 - Stir all ingredients to combine evenly.
04 - Fold in the shredded coconut until well distributed.
05 - Cover the bowl and refrigerate until ready to serve.

# Additional Notes:

01 - To drain the pineapple thoroughly, place it in a fine wire mesh colander and gently squeeze out excess liquid.
02 - Feel free to use a 16 ounce jar of maraschino cherries if you prefer more cherries in your salad.
03 - You can use any brand of frozen whipped topping, such as Cool Whip, Tru-Whip, or CocoWhip.
04 - Full-fat or light sour cream is recommended for best results; fat-free versions may affect texture.
05 - Plain Greek yogurt (2% or whole-milk) can substitute for sour cream, or use vanilla Greek yogurt for a sweeter version.
